HEALTH CURRICULUM:HELPFUL
Our District Health Curriculum Night Webinar is Scheduled for Monday, September 14 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Following this event, parents may opt their children out of some or all of the sexual health components of the curriculum.
Here is the message that was sent in ParentSquare:
Join us for our District Health Curriculum Night Webinar on Monday, September 14, 6:00-7:00 pm. Pre-registration is required.
During the webinar, families will have the opportunity to learn about our health curriculum in Shoreline Schools prior to it being taught in classrooms and receive modification/opt-out options of the sexual health lessons if they choose.
Please see the Washington State Healthy Youth Act and Shoreline School District policy 2125 and policy 2169 for details. Learn more about our curriculum: The Great Body Shop and FLASH.
Recordings of the presentation will be posted online for those unable to attend. After registering, you will automatically be emailed a link to use when joining the webinar. If you do not receive an email with the webinar link within one hour of registering, please email public.info@ssd412.org.
UPDATE FROM HICAP OFFICE: HELPFUL
Students Eligible for Services:
Please check the HiCap Staff Portal for the most current HiCap School Rosters to see students who are identified as NEWLY eligible for services or eligible on a provisional basis.
Additional students may become eligible after the Fall New Student Testing in mid October.
Provisional Students
Provisional students are to be monitored for the first 9 weeks they receive services and families should receive communication regarding students’ progress.
The week of November 23, 2026 marks 9 weeks after the start of math services in grades 1-5.
The week of October 26, 2026 is 9 weeks after the start of the school year for all other grades and in the magnet program at MP.

Reminder: The Fall Assessment Window is 9/7/26 - 10/2/26
District Assessment Calendar: See the calendar for assessment windows. Updated regularly and on our district website. Please note that for District Assessments (i.e., DIBELS, i-Ready), the district sets a window for which these assessments need to be completed, but individual buildings may set more specific timelines for completion within that window.

PTSA GRANTS:HELPFUL
Grants are back!! Here is the information you will need:

This year we have $5K in grants available for use in the 24/25 school year budget. Any staff that has interest in applying can fill out the application form. It will be reviewed by the Finance Committee and recommendations will be presented to and voted on during RepBod meetings. All funds must be used before the end of the school year.
The purpose of this program is: To nurture creativity and enthusiasm by awarding grants to members of the Cascade K-8 community to benefit the students in unique ways that improve or enrich their learning experience, when funds are not otherwise available.
