Please pay special attention to the end of the year dates.  It’s May, but please look ahead to June, especially since we do not have staff time together and there are some school day events such as field day and grad walk.  Please pack your flexibility!!!

Thursday June 5 Thursday June 5	Grad Walk at Cascade- 1:00-1:30 From Shorecrest: This event is such a special tradition—our seniors get to return to their old schools, see their former teachers, and get cheered on as they take their next big step. It’s always an unforgettable moment, and we’d love to have you join us to celebrate and uplift them! Here’s the Grad Walk schedule: (Similar to last year!, I can send a confirmed schedule closer to the date) Elementary Schools: 1:00 - 1:30 PM Students will arrange their own transportation to the elementary schools. Schools will guide grads on a tour through the building so all grade levels can celebrate them! In past years, schools have made it extra fun with pizza, snacks, and photo booths! Let’s make this an amazing experience for our grads! Your support, cheers, and presence mean the world to them. I know our grads love this event! <3 <3   Thank you, friends!  Go Scots!  PRIDE Potluck at the SLC (5:30 p.m.)

Wednesday June 11	Market Day at Cascade (2:00-3:30).  Please note- this is a change to the original date.
Wednesday June 11	Moving On/Moving Up Ceremony at SHOREWOOD (6:00-7:30 p.m.) This is an evening to honor all of our students to celebrate moving on to the next grade, and especially our 8th Grade students who are moving on to high school.

Monday June 16	Final Day of School (dismissal 12:05).  This is a half day, but because we applied for a waiver, there are some minutes that need to be accounted for (thus, the 12:05 dismissal). Staff Social at E-pu-lo after school (local 104 is closed on Mondays)!!!!

IT NEWS!!

As a security measure, IT will retire @shorelineschools.org addresses.  All email that has been routed from @shorelineschools.org addresses will stop by the end of June. Please make one final check to make sure you do not have any accounts still connected to @shorelineschools.org. You could lose access to these accounts if you do not update your email by the end of June.

SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION: HELPFUL

Summer School will run from July 8-31, 2025, three days per week, Tues - Thurs. 

Andy Kidd will be serving as the 2025 K-12 Summer School Principal. The program will run at Echo Lake Elementary School. 

Summer programming will be similar to that offered last summer. Andy will be in touch with building principals and teams in the coming weeks with more details.

To help you with your planning for next year, the Highly Capable Department has updated the master spreadsheet of eligible students for the 25-26 school year.  

• Below are spreadsheets of Highly Capable Students by School for the 2025-26 School Year

• Please make note of those students who have NO PARENTAL CONSENT in Column “L”. 

• Until the HiCap office receives parental consent, that student cannot receive hi-cap services.

• Consent forms can be found on the Highly Capable website

This spreadsheet is live and will reflect changes as students are identified during the summer testing session. Make sure to check your school spreadsheet at the end of August for updated lists of students eligible for services or class placements.

PTSA GRANTS:HELPFUL

Grants are back!!  Here is the information you will need:

This year we have $5K in grants available for use in the 24/25 school year budget.  Any staff that has interest in applying can fill out the application form.  It will be reviewed by the Finance Committee and recommendations will be presented to and voted on during RepBod meetings.  All funds must be used before the end of the school year.

The purpose of this program is: To nurture creativity and enthusiasm by awarding grants to members of the Cascade K-8  community to benefit the students in unique ways that improve or enrich their learning experience,  when funds are not otherwise available.
