Quick Look:
BIG PICTURE FOR CONSIDERATION: HELPFUL
STAFF AUCTION ITEMS: ACTION
It is already time to start thinking about the auction!! This year, it is a “Great Gatsby” type of theme. The intent was to have a PTSA representative at our next staff meeting to discuss items that staff have auctioned in the past and ideas for new auction items. Please take a few minutes to sign up for an item/experience that you are thinking of auctioning this year. If you sign up on this sheet, please know this is not a commitment yet. We will finalize this initial list at an upcoming staff meeting. PTSA mentioned “ticketed experiences''. I have no idea what that means, but please indicate if your item is “ticketed” in the notes column. Thank you for getting the ball rolling!

CLASS ART PROJECTS FOR THE AUCTION: ACTION
Ask from Corinna:
I’m writing from both the lead liaison AND auction chair position. Our newest teachers may not know, but every year at our auction (April 15th) we live-auction classroom projects. These projects typically sell for hundreds of dollars each, so it is essential to our fundraising goals. This is separate from the teacher experiences that Bonnie has, or will, mention to you.
For each of you, I’d like to know how much time we can take from your packed classroom schedule to have a volunteer come in and lead a project (could be shorter times over multiple days), and what days and times might work for you.
Please email to let me know: CorinnaASullivan@gmail.com
We would like to have these complete by April 1st, so we have two months to find a space.
Please let me know so that I can get volunteers in your classes, and thanks in advance for your time.
ATHLETIC SKILLS NIGHT: HELPFUL
What is it? Think talent show, but for physical activities!
How does it work? Student performers have 90 seconds to show what they love to do. It could be a dance, shooting free throws, juggling or gymnastics. Are they a skater, a scooter rider, jump roper, or martial artist? Students can perform on their own or with a group. Whatever their skill is, we want to see it!
How does my student sign up? Return your signed participation form to PE Teacher Susie by this Friday, March 3.
When is it? Thursday, March 30 at 6:30pm
Who? CK8 Kids! All grades, all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate in the show
Where: The gym at CK8
Why: To celebrate your hard work and inspire others!
PE Teacher Susie will be talking to classes about the event during PE, and hard copies of details and permission slips will be on the bulletin board (You can also access a printable PDF version here).
Questions? Please contact PE Teacher Susie at susie.bunker@ssd412.org

FUTURE SCOTS VISIT: HELPFUL
Please see below for information regarding the Future Scots event on June 6th. This is for 8th Grade students who plan on attending Shorecrest. Keep in mind, this event is happening during K-5 camp. In case students are asking you about the event, here is the information I have been given:
Future Scots Visit (8th Grade Students and Families)- Please see information below from SC Activities Coordinator:
Class of 2027 Shorecrest students are invited to our "Future Scots Welcome Morning" on Tuesday, June 6 from 9:00-10:10.This is a time for our new students to learn a little more about high school from older students who put on a program with information and performances in the gym and we follow it up with a question and answer session in small groups facilitated by student leaders.
Please arrive between 8:50-9:00 on Tuesday, June 6. Students may be dropped off at the Gym building on the south end of campus. Students will need to carpool or ride with family to Shorecrest. A bus will be provided from Shorecrest to Cascade K-8 after the event ends. We’ll have a welcome table set up and we’d like you to check in and get your name tag.
After the program in the Gym, we will walk to the Commons (our cafeteria) in the Main Building for a small group question and answer session. We’ll be putting new-to-the-district students together in small groups so that they can get to know each other.
We will dismiss at 10:10 in order to transition before our students come down to the Commons during a passing period.
This event is targeted to students and we don’t have special programming for parents. However, you are welcome to join us in the Gym and the Commons as a "fly on the wall". Please check in at the welcome table if you are a parent/guardian attending the event.
Tours of the school will not happen June 6, but will take place at the New Student Kick Off on the evening of August 31 (6:00-7:45) and at the New Student Orientation on the morning of September 5.
For questions and to RSVP (only necessary if currently out-of-district), please email Shorecrest Activity Coordinator: johanna.phillips@ssd412.org
