SURFACE WATER INFORMATION: ACTION

K-5:

We’re asking principals to work with their teachers to UPDATE the curriculum and activities listed on this form, identifying resources used in their schools by May 15 so that we can submit our curriculum for the year to the City of Shoreline before the deadline to receive the credits.

Shoreline School District annually pays City of Shoreline “surface water management” fees The city allows the district to claim Education credits to provide surface water-related education/ curriculum. These credits can save the district over $300,000 in fees - providing significant support to address our budget challenges.

Schools may add additional activities not listed that are related to surface water management. Approved curriculum topics can be found here.

FINAL CONFERENCES: ACTION

Please take a moment to sign up for a final conference time (deadline is May 30) if you are evaluated using the Danielson Framework.

CLASSIFIED STAFF TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: ACTION

Please share this flyer with classified staff who may be interested in taking Race and Equity 101 at Briarcrest Elementary.   The BC staff have graciously opened enrollment district-wide. It was originally intended for just their classified staff, so we are hoping your staff can take advantage of this training.

This will be the only opportunity to take this class this academic year.  There is no extra pay offered, but those who are not working during that time are welcome to register and attend.

The session will be offered at Briarcrest on April 30 and May 21 and participants must attend both sessions.

All the details are in this  flyer.  They must be able to attend both sessions at Briarcrest, registration is required and is first-come, first-served.

*Note* This session is not being offered to certificated staff as it is an Individual day and we cannot offer clock hours on “I” days.

Here is a grant link.  Cascade K-8 PTSA Grant Application - Google Forms

This year we have $5K in grants available for use in the 24/25 school year budget.  Any staff that has interest in applying can fill out the application form.  It will be reviewed by the Finance Committee and recommendations will be presented to and voted on during RepBod meetings.  All funds must be used before the end of the school year.

The purpose of this program is: To nurture creativity and enthusiasm by awarding grants to members of the Cascade K-8  community to benefit the students in unique ways that improve or enrich their learning experience,  when funds are not otherwise available.
