UPCOMING HEART HEALTH ASSEMBLY: HELPFUL
Please see below for a message from Victoria Do who will be presenting at our assembly on 11/13:
Hello Teachers,
We are so excited to bring Kids Heart Challenge to our school in partnership with the American Heart Association! This service-learning program educates our students on physical and social-emotional well-being while giving them the opportunity to help others with special hearts by raising life saving donations. Our goal this year is to have all families learn the steps to Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission! By completing Finn’s Mission, students and staff will also be entered into an NFL Sweepstakes to win two tickets to Super Bowl LIX in 2026.
The American Heart Association will be at our school next week on Wednesday, November 13th for our school kickoff assembly!
Help lead by example by being the first in your class to join our online Kids Heart Challenge team!
Register yourself at http://www2.heart.org/goto/Cascade to join our school team
Complete Finn’s Mission where we can lead by example and learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR alongside our students and families

TECHNOLOGY TEACHING AND LEARNING UPDATES: HELPFUL
Technology Learning & Leading Cohort (TLC) - AI is Back! (All)
Exciting News: we are seeking K-12 teachers who want to explore how we can use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance instruction and capture time through planning efficiencies. Over two all-day sessions (subs provided), we will focus on student-centered and hands-on learning. There will be time to reflect, plan, and share new learning with colleagues. Specifically, we will be looking at Skill Struck, a district-subscribed AI tool (see tip below), and Google Gemini, an AI chat tool that has become part of the Google Workspace suite.
Applications are due by 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 20th.
SEL EBooks (All)
Teachers, back in 2021 the librarians received a grant for SEL ebooks for you to use with your students during remote learning. Last week’s Equitable Literacy and SEL focused Wednesday learning reminded us to share how to access those resources for you to use with your students.

Each fall, SKSR offers its active members in good standing the opportunity to apply for educational grants of up to $400 to facilitate their work with their students. Grants must have a direct, positive effect/impact on students in their building and meet at least one of the following criteria:

Promote active student involvement,
Provide experiences that students may otherwise be unlikely to have at school,
Augment existing curriculum.
Past grants have included requests for field trip transportation and admission costs, speaker and student workshop fees, themed books to supplement a unit of study, manipulatives to teach math concepts, materials to create a maker station, materials to support the family component of a school-wide program, supplemental PE equipment, and picture books for school psychologists to teach lessons on topics such as bullying.
