K-5 TEACHERS- GREAT BODY SHOP INFORMATION: HELPFUL

We were recently notified that teacher licenses for our Great Body Shop health curriculum have expired. We are purchasing new licenses, however the publisher also requires that new teacher print materials be purchased with the licenses. These teacher print and digital materials will be good for another five years. We are working with the publisher to determine if there are changes in the teacher materials, however we don’t anticipate that any changes will be significant.

As soon as we have more information on the timeline for receiving and distributing the teacher materials to schools, we will provide an update.

ORDER SUMMARY FORM: HELPFUL

As promised, here is the order summary form to be completed when you need to place an order for classroom materials that you are not buying with your own money and then getting reimbursed. If you choose to buy and then get reimbursed, please continue using the same process you have always followed.  If not, here is a link to the form that will keep all of the order requests in one place.  I have linked the above form as well as a link to the responses in our Systems and Procedures document that you will find at the top of the blog each week. I put these links under  the “Building Information” heading.  They are called “Order Summary Form” and “Order Summary Form (Responses)”.

SKSR GRANT APPLICATIONS OPEN: HELPFUL

The Sno-King School Retirees (SKSR) annual grant application period is now open. Grant applications must be submitted by November 7.

Each fall, SKSR offers its active members in good standing the opportunity to apply for educational grants of up to $400 to facilitate their work with their students. Grants must have a direct, positive effect/impact on students in their building and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Enrich the classroom experience of students,

  • Promote active student involvement,

  • Provide experiences that students may otherwise be unlikely to have at school,

  • Augment existing curriculum.

Past grants have included requests for field trip transportation and admission costs, speaker and student workshop fees, themed books to supplement a unit of study, manipulatives to teach math concepts, materials to create a maker station, materials to support the family component of a school-wide program, supplemental PE equipment, and picture books for school psychologists to teach lessons on topics such as bullying.
