ORDER SUMMARY FORM: HELPFUL
As promised, here is the order summary form to be completed when you need to place an order for classroom materials that you are not buying with your own money and then getting reimbursed. If you choose to buy and then get reimbursed, please continue using the same process you have always followed. If not, here is a link to the form that will keep all of the order requests in one place. I have linked the above form as well as a link to the responses in our Systems and Procedures document that you will find at the top of the blog each week. I put these links under the “Building Information” heading. They are called “Order Summary Form” and “Order Summary Form (Responses)”.
SKSR GRANT APPLICATIONS OPEN: HELPFUL
The Sno-King School Retirees (SKSR) annual grant application period is now open. Grant applications must be submitted by November 7.
Each fall, SKSR offers its active members in good standing the opportunity to apply for educational grants of up to $400 to facilitate their work with their students. Grants must have a direct, positive effect/impact on students in their building and meet at least one of the following criteria:
Enrich the classroom experience of students,
Promote active student involvement,
Provide experiences that students may otherwise be unlikely to have at school,
Augment existing curriculum.
Past grants have included requests for field trip transportation and admission costs, speaker and student workshop fees, themed books to supplement a unit of study, manipulatives to teach math concepts, materials to create a maker station, materials to support the family component of a school-wide program, supplemental PE equipment, and picture books for school psychologists to teach lessons on topics such as bullying.

EDMONDS CENTER FOR THE ARTS WHOLE SCHOOL FIELD TRIP: ACTION
Edmonds Center for the Arts-Quinteto Latino on 9/25. *Please check your email (sent on Sept.10 for supporting documents)
Here is a link to the information about the group (I know this link says the show is at 2:00, but we would be attending a special showing for schools starting at 10:00). The Edmonds Center for the Arts has provided us with additional (optional) preparatory materials. Please check your email for that information.
Again, the scheduled departure from CK-8 is 9:30. The estimated time we should return is 11:30. K-3 classes, please plan to bring your lunch wagons to the cafeteria when you go to load the bus at 9:30. That way, students will have their lunches staged and can go from the field trip bus directly to the cafeteria for lunch. 4th and 5th grade should go from the field trip bus to the playground as they usually would. Journey will return to class until they are dismissed for lunch.
We will have an opportunity to discuss and finalize details as a staff during our early release meeting time together on 9/18.
ASSESSMENT REMINDERS: HELPFUL
The Fall Assessment Window is open 9/3/24 - 9/20/24
i-Ready Reading has replaced Reading Inventory as the literacy screener for secondary students. i-Ready Reading is required for all students grades 3-10, as needed for students in grades 11 & 12. See below for more information and resources. Questions about administering i-Ready? Click here and see the i-Ready folder in Assessment Resources.
District Assessment Calendar: See the calendar for assessment windows. Updated regularly and on our district website. Please note that for District Assessments (i.e., DIBELS, i-Ready), the district sets a window for which these assessments need to be completed, but individual buildings may set more specific timelines for completion within that window. Please check with your building administrator for clarification.
Assessment Support: More detail on support available for assessment administration.
Assessment Resources: Google folder with resources for assessment.
